Who We Are - Springbrook

MEMBER NEWS

Please make sure you have your Waterway Access Permit and your tags on. The Lake Patrol will be looking for compliance this 2026 season.

Oregon State Waterway Access Permit

  • You are required to have a permit if you operate (use) a watercraft on the lake e.g. community equipment, a kayak, paddle board, canoe, raft, boat (powered or unpowered).
  • Violation of the requirement to carry a Waterway Access Permit is punishable by a fine of $115.
  • As of January 1, 2026, the Waterway Access Permit (WAP) is specifically required for all non-motorized boats (kayaks, rafts, stand-up paddleboards, drift boats) regardless of length in Oregon, with fees supporting aquatic invasive species prevention.
  • Motorized boats and sailboats are required to be registered, which already includes the required AIS (Aquatic Invasive Species) permit fee.
  • The permits apply to the operator (user), not to the craft, so only one is required per person, regardless of how many different craft you use on the Lake (or elsewhere).
  • Exemptions: Children 13 and younger do not need a permit.
  • Transferable: Permits are not tied to a specific boat and are transferable between crafts.
  • Exceptions: Pool toys, mattresses, and single inner tubes do not require a permit.
  • Applying for a permit: There is a link on the lakecorp.com website that links to the OSMB (Marine Board) for this purpose. Permit sales for 2026 are also available through the Boat Oregon Store. Look in the upper right-hand corner of the page and click "Online Services" to make your permit selection, then follow the prompts.

From email sent by Larry Getzoff, President on 1/28/2026

Hi Springbrook Members

Welcome to 2026!

It is time once again to pay 2026 dues and prepare for our Annual General Meeting of Members.

2026 Lake Oswego Corporation (LOC) annual dues

  • Due and payable by Friday, February 27th to receive your new LOC stickers (tags) and be in good standing.
  • For those members with watercraft — please note that additional registration/certification requirements now apply to non-power watercraft as described in LOC’s email to members and shareholders sent in Jan.

2026 Springbrook Easement annual dues

  • Due and payable by Sunday, March 1st.

Note: if dues are not received by March 15, 2026, and no prior special arrangements for late payment (which will be approved only if the result of truly exigent circumstances) are requested by the member, and approved by the President or another member of the Executive Committee, Springbrook Easement will presume that you are not interested in maintaining your membership for 2026.

In that event, Springbrook also reserves the right to reassign any or all of your storage rack space (if applicable) to other members, to remove you (if applicable) from waiting lists, and/or to bar you from further use of the easement until dues are paid.

Non-renewals: If any member is planning NOT to renew their membership for 2026, please let me know in writing.  That way, we will not bother you anymore with emails or “increasingly dire” communications requesting payment of late dues and instead can arrange for the return of your keys.

Easement Annual Dues

  1. BASIC (use of easement and community      equipment, but no storage racks): $250
  2. NON-POWER WATERCRAFT RACK STORAGE: $350
  3. SHARED POWERBOAT SLIP: $375 (or)
  4. SOLE POWERBOAT SLIP: $750

Payment methods for Easement Annual Dues

A. By check drawn to “Springbrook Easement” or “Springbrook Recreation Corp.”.

Mail, or hand-deliver (in person or mailbox), the check to:

       Larry Getzoff

       3123 Douglas Circle,

       Lake Oswego, OR  97035.

B. For those members not using checks CONTACT Larry Getzoff by email at laurencegetzoff@icloud.com or by text, at (503) 305-0259, to arrange in advance a suitable alternative payment method.
*And to those couple of members who actually paid their dues before even receiving this email, thank you!

We have no ability to accept credit cards in 2026.

Notice of 2026 Annual Meeting

  • The Springbrook Easement Annual Meeting will be held on Wed, Mar 4th, 2026, at 7pm.
  • Online meeting instructions will be provided approximately two weeks prior to the meeting date.
  • A preliminary agenda will be sent to members about four weeks prior to the meeting, including the ability by members to request additions to the basic agenda.

2026 Budget

The Easement’s 2026 Budget is in the process of being prepared, as there remain a couple of issues that must be addressed prior to finalizing it.  Trevor Jennsen and Larry Getzoff will release the proposed budget for review at least two weeks prior to the annual meeting.

Now let’s all look forward to a wonderful 2026 lake season!

Thank you for your cooperation, and we really hope to see all of you at the Annual Meeting this year!

Best regards,

Larry

About Us

Springbrook Easement

The Springbrook Easement (“Easement”) was established as an easement property on Oswego Lake, providing year-round lake and lakefront access to all of its members.

The Easement is maintained for the exclusive use of bona-fide residents of homes identified as eligible for membership in the Springbrook Recreation Corporation (the “Corporation”), upon payment of the specified membership fees and dues, as specified in the bylaws and rules of that Corporation.

Responsibility for administration of Easement affairs rests with the duly elected officers of the Corporation as set forth in the bylaws and rules of the Corporation, along with papers of incorporation, and the Lake Corporation (“LakeCorp”) rules governing the use of easement properties.

Each of the elected officers responsible for the affairs of the Corporation are members who volunteer to manage the easement on behalf of the members.

Please remember this is a community resource and works better when we look out for and help each other through our driving principles:

  • Safety First
  • Respect Others
  • Protect the Easement and Member Property
  • Keep the Easement Clean
  • Have Fun!
